WHO IS MY EMPLOYER? YOU ARE SELF-EMPLOYED

As an Independent Contractor, you are technically Self-Employed.

Do not list Worship Support Network as your employer on any filing forms or paperwork.

CAN I STILL PICK UP GIGS WITH WSN IF I AM RECEIVING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS? UNFORTUNATELY, NO

If you are receiving unemployment insurance benefits, you cannot continue to earn income.

If you are receiving, or plan to apply for government assistance, you need to let us know so we can mark you as temporarily unavailable. We can re-activate you at anytime once you decide to stop receiving government assistance.

WHAT OPTIONS WILL I HAVE FOR WHICH TO APPLY?

Its looking like there will be two options, made available through CARE ACT.

ONE: The bill creates a new program, called the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, that extends benefits to gig workers, contractors and others who wouldn't otherwise qualify for unemployment compensation but cannot work due to the coronavirus emergency.

"Federal and state laws around eligibility and requirements are also changing in response to COVID-19. DES is analyzing the impacts of these changes and will update its requirements accordingly. These may continue to change as the government response to COVID-19 evolves."

TWO The bill supports small business loans which also covers Independent Contractors and Self-Employed individuals.

"The administration soon will release more details including the list of lenders offering loans under the program. In the meantime, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has issued this guide to help small businesses and self-employed individuals prepare to file for a loan."
